Smart Map reads KML files.  KML (Keyhole Markup Language) is a file format for managing the display of geographic data in Google Earth and Google Maps.

You can create KML files using either Google Earth or Google Maps, or you can use a plain text editor to create the files from scratch.

Smart Map is capable of displaying most of the KML feature objects in 2D:

KMZ Files

 
 Smart Map is not yet compatible with KMZ files although I'm working on this feature for a near future release.  KMZ files are KML files packaged with images in a zip file.
