Glossary Item Box

Smart Map has an integrated driving direction feature that allows you to query and display driving directions directly within Smart Map in 9 different languages.  These driving directions are supplied courtesy of Google.
There are a number of ways for you and your users to query for driving directions through the Smart Map module:

ShowSearch Box

You can request driving directions through the search box of Smart Map by typing in the start and destination addresses such as "Seattle to Tampa".

You must supply the proposition "to", assuming the map's default language is set to English.  If the map is set to some other language then use a corresponding preposition in that language or else the search may fail.

Another way to enter the start and destination address into the search box is to use "from:" and "to:" prefixes like this: "from: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC to: 3005 N Carnahan, Spokane, WA 99217".

ShowQuerystring

You can pass requests for driving directions through the querystring.  See Driving Directions Querystring Parameters for more information and examples.

ShowBalloon: To Here, From Here

With Smart Map, you and your users can request driving directions from within any popup balloon window, just like at Google Local.  This feature also works with your own custom points and balloon windows.
